Thomas M. Weil, DDS
Dr. Tom W. Weil is a well-known and nationally respected oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over 40 years of experience. Having graduated from Tulane University as an undergraduate (1961), Dr. Weil completed his dental degree at Baylor College of Dentistry (1965) and finished his residency at Ochsner Foundation Hospital and Clinic, New Orleans (1971). He also completed an internship at the United States Air Force Hospital, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois (1965-1966).
Today, Dr. Weil is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Among his many accomplishments, he is also a former examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the certifying board for the specialty.
Dr. Weil has been, and is currently, a professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and a clinical associate professor at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Dr. Weil has been active in local and national dental and oral and maxillofacial surgery associations and is a past president of the Texas, Houston, and Southwest Societies of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
He has lectured locally and nationally on a number of topics related to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. His special interests in the field include dentoalveolar surgery, dental and oral maxillofacial implants, orthognathic surgery, and the diagnosis and management of facial pain.
